Lessons of the Hour - Frederick Douglass Publication shortlisted for Kraszna-Krausz Book Awards
Isaac Julien's Lessons of the Hour - Frederick Douglass has been shortlisted for the 2023 Kraszna-Krausz Book Awards celebrating excellence in photography and moving image publishing.
The 3 shortlisted titles have been chosen as outstanding demonstrations of originality and excellence in the fields of moving image publishing.
Following the shortlist announcement, the winners in the Photography and the Moving Image categories, sharing a £10,000 prize fund, will be announced in June 2023. Events celebrating the 2023 awards and the winners will take place in the autumn.
The book is published by Isaac Julien Studio/ Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester/Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum
and Art Gallery at Skidmore College/DelMonico Books D.A.P.
The Kraszna-Krausz Book Awards celebrate creativity and rigour within the publishing industry, selecting books for their attention to content, quality and presentation. The longlisted showcased at Photo London in the publishing section from 11-14 May.
The Kraszna-Krausz Book Awards, first established in 1985, are open to all Moving Image and Photography books published in the previous year and available in the UK.
