Lessons of the Hour [Doppelgänger] on the Piccadilly Lights, this Thursday at 7pm
After a first screening on Piccadily Circus commissioned in September by the Royal Academy, Lessons of the Hour - Frederick Douglass [Doppelgänger] returns to the Piccadilly Lights this Thirsday 14th of October at 7 pm, coinciding with "Frieze" Art Week and the premiere of Lessons of the Hour single screen in Social Works II, curated by Antwaun Sargent at the Gagosian. The film will be presented along with a photograph especially created for the show: To See Ourselves as Others See Us (2019).
The piece will offer a monumental and unique experience of the art film, a poetic meditation on the life and ideas of the African American abolotionist. Taking place in October (precise time and date to be announced). The screening will include sound accessible via QR codes on the screen.
