ICA Miami presents 'Vagabondia'

With the support of the de la Cruz Collection, the ICA Miami is presenting Isaac Julien's film installation 'Vagabondia' (2000), a double-projection piece exploring how structures of power and domination impact historical narratives in museums.

Set in London’s Sir John Soane’s Museum, which the architect designed in the early nineteenth century to house his collection of art and artifacts, the video shows a Black female conservator as she moves around the museum at night imagining the ghosts of eighteenth-century Black London.
