Group exhibition to premiere 3-screen piece
Show at Wiels Centre, Brussels, addresses the risks around homogenisation of ideas
11 September 2020 - 10 January 2021
Exploring the potential of risk that challenges the homogenization of thought in the now infamous echo chambers of our overcrowded info-sphere, Risquons-Tout, Wiels Contemporary Art Centre's ambitious group exhibition aspires to present some of the most innovative and influential artists and authors living and working today. The title is borrowed from a place located on the Belgian-French border, a real yet liminal space of transition, of passage, of informal exchanges, notably smuggling.
Isaac Julien's Lina Bo Bardi - A Marvellous Entanglement will have its three-screen version presented for the first time in the exhibition, which is curated by Dirk Snauwaert in collaboration with co-curators Zoë Gray and Devrim Bayar, associate curator Helena Kritis for the performative section, and Sofia Dati as curatorial assistant.
