Isaac in Conversation with Fernanda Torres

Galeria Nara Roesler are to host a conversation between Isaac Julien and Fernanda Torres, as part of their Ping Pong Youtube Series this Saturday, 9th May. 

In the eleventh conversation of the Ping Pong live series, visual artist and filmmaker Isaac Julien talks to actress and writer Fernanda Torres about his newest film, Lina Bo Bardi - A Marvellous Entanglement (2019) and their experience working together. 

This film is a poetic approach to the creative genius and prolific practice of the Italian-born Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi. In the nine-screen film installation, Fernanda Torres and her mother, the Academy Award-nominated actress Fernanda Montenegro, read seminal texts and letters by Bo Bardi while interpreting her in different stages of her life.

Julien and Torres will discuss their creative processes, their interaction on the film-set, and share with us their perspectives on Bo Bardi's legacy.
