The Black Light Retrospective at the Locarno72 "intends to go beyond the concept of Black as identity or social issue to explore the imagery used by filmmakers who have tackled this question – historically and politically – at different times and in different places".
Frantz Fanon, Black Skin White Masks will be part of this retrospective, bringing to the screen Julien's reflection around the life, work and struggle of revolutionnary psychiatric doctor. The screening will be followed by a conversation with director Isaac Julien and producer Mark Nash.
